Mexico 2010

Even though we are just into the start of Spring and the 2010 golf season it’s time for me to finalize plans for our Annual Winter Golf Trip to Mexico.

This will be our 8th trip to Mexico and our second visit to Puerto Vallarta and the Paradise Village Beach Resort. Although last years group was the smallest and the weather was a bit wet, we had a great week at Paradise Village  and El Tigre Golf Course and I look forward to returning again this year.

Paradise Village Beach Resort

All the rooms at Paradise Village are suites which include separate sleeping and sitting areas. Each room  has a complete kitchen with refrigerator, stove, microwave and all the utensils needed for cooking. Seems like a waste since we ate at the hotel restuarants every meal. Personally, I think the food was the best we’ve had at any of the places we’ve stayed. I enjoyed steak and/or lobster/shrimp/etc. every evening meal. And there are no surcharges for any items on the menu. You are free to have anything on the menu at no additional cost.

The hotel is located right at the marina with water transportation to the city as well as sunset tours and fishing trips. A small shopping mall is also within walking distance offering groceries and a Starbucks with internet service, etc.

El Tigre Golf Course

El Tigre Golf Course

The golf at El Tigre was also one of the best we’ve played. There are several sets of tees to choose from so every level of golfer can find both a challange and forgiveness. Although the locals said it was not normal, we did get rained out one day and the course was a little wet for a couple of days which required us to keep the carts on the path. Overall the course was great and the cart/range staff was very friendly and helpful. Club storage is included and there is a shuttle between the course and the hotel every 30 minutes.

Unlike some of the other places we’ve stayed, there is no out of pocket expenses once we arrive, unless you choose to go on an outing or into the city. Of course while tipping the shuttle driver and food servers will get you better service, it is not required.

I should be finalizing all the details within a few days. If you’d like to receive information and updates regarding this years trip please join my Mexico 2010 mailing list. Members of this list will only be receiving information regarding the trip and you can remove yourself when ever you like.
